Perhaps the first thing one notices when looking at the work of Paul Gribbin is his lifelong love of detail and subtle textures.
A graduate of the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, he has more than 30 years of experience in illustrating everything from packaging and promotional material to books, newspapers and magazines for clients of all sizes in Ireland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
Although he has used many varied techniques and different styles, these days Paul works digitally and has developed a technique that allows him to work with the same passion and richness as he does with traditional media. He still, however, holds a great love of traditional techniques, especially “old-fashioned” pen and ink.
Paul now lives in the Czech Republic where apart from illustration he teaches drawing and runs a small boutique design studio. He likes to spend his free time with a good book or roaming the South Bohemian landscape with his family, seeking inspiration in its lakes, hills and romantic castles.
